The Vortex Effect

I find this completely hilarious. First of all, on the new season of CBS’s Survivor, the 20 contestants are seperated into 4 tribes: The Blacks, The Asians, The Hispanics, and The Whites. Not sure if those are the tribe names or not, but you get the picture. Anyway, if you’ve ever watched a season of the show, you know that this ridiculous idea will probably only last for a few episodes before the tribes "merge", and so has very little to do with staging a social experiment and more to do with being a publicity stunt. And publicity it is getting… so far my favorite news story is this:

C’mon, Mr. NY City Councilman. Don’t you think you’re blowing this a bit out of proportion? I mean, wasn’t it Martin Luther KIng who said "I have a dream. I have a dream that one day this world will be transformed and I will see a little black girl and a little white boy competing against one another in a physical challenge where they must traverse an obstacle course made up of coconuts and bamboo stalks to win the immunity necklace." That man had vision and so should you.
